Upcoming: RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2015

Everyone is gearing up for RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2015! And we are no exception.

We are very happy to be designing and building the trade stand for Hartley Botanic in 2015. This is the 4th year in a row that we have built for Hartley Botanic. It’s been a happy collaboration, with the trade stand winning numerous awards, including Best Trade Stand in 2013 and 2014. It is also the 3rd year that the stand will be designed by our in-house designer Catherine MacDonald.

The design for a triangular plot near the Bullring Entrance will use Birch trees and shrubs (Euonymus alatus and Viburnum plicatum ‘Mariesii’) for structure. Catherine is planning to use warm reds and yellow in the planting, choosing two palettes for both sun and shade areas.

The planting for sun might include plants like Anthriscus, Lysimachia, Irises, Sanguisorba, Pastinica, Phlomis and Deschampsia.

The shade planting might use Aquilegia, Athyrium, Cenolophium, Digitalis, Epimedium, Geranium and Tellima.

 

The second garden we will be building for Chelsea is the Show Garden “Hidden Beauty of Kranji” for designers John Tan and Raymond Toh. Sponsored by Esmond & Uniseal, the tropical garden features plants native to Singapore. Two of the main features will be an impressive, multi-level waterfall and a sculptural metal Pavillion.

The Pavillion structure will feature a green roof and vertical planting, so it is gearing up to be a challenging and exciting build for us!

John and Raymond recently built the pavillion and waterfall structures as a test. The structures went up in around 2 hours, with a little help from a crane. The shipping container with the Pavilion & Water Feature, seen
below, leaves Singapore 28th March & arrives in Southampton 24th April, arriving just in time for the start of Build-Up!
