Leeds, Kent

Type: Domestic
Designer: Spacehub

This private domestic scheme, with a new country house, is set in 34 hectares close to the village of Leeds, in Kent.

The scheme included a variety of garden areas and terraces, which were created immediately adjacent to living spaces. The surrounding landscaping consisted of areas of woodland, hedgerows, orchards, meadows, gardens and biodiverse roofs.

This was a prestigious, large scale landscaping project with earthworks, and extensive soft landscaping. The challenges included significant engineering, phasing and intricate hard landscaping details.

Landform Consultants carried out all the landscaping works including the earth works to shape the landscape, paving, tree planting, reinforced slope construction, green roofs, pathways and steps. We also carried out all of the planting works, working alongside Spacehub, to establish a landscape to seamlessly integrate with this local Kent landscape.

The new house was built under PPS7, the regulation that allows the construction of new houses of exceptional design quality and sustainability in rural areas .
